This list of resources is not to be considered as conclusive, but it is a representation of just a few internationally-recognized experts and associated websites regarding health and nutrition. The overall mission of health professionals should be focused on treating and curing disease as well as to prevent and reduce other chronic conditions – all while promoting optimal health and lifestyle choices.
Numerous medical and scientific research studies relating to the role of nutrition and diet on health; ground-breaking research papers and articles published in medical, scientific and nutrition journals; and national and international expert committees on nutrition and health; are all key in building the knowledge base of medical principles that work.
To reach a state of total wellness is a choice. This means that much of the work towards achieving greater health does need to be completed by the patient – after they have received the information, education, and treatment recommendations to guide them.
Journey Medical is dedicated to preventive and integrative whole health care by devoting our efforts into patient education, promotion of optimal therapeutic lifestyle changes, as well as the application of evidenced-based medical treatments.
Dr. Esselstyn's Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease Program
Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr. has completed multiple scientific publications and studies regarding health and nutrition. “The Best Doctors in America” 1994-1995 published by Woodward and White cites Dr. Esselstyn’s surgical expertise in the categories of endocrine and breast disease. In 1995 he published his bench mark long-term nutritional research on arresting and reversing coronary artery disease in severely ill patients. That same study was updated at 12 years and reviewed again beyond twenty years in his book, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, making it one of the longest longitudinal studies of its type. In July of 2014 he reported the experience of 198 participants who were seriously ill with cardiovascular disease. During over 3 years of follow up of the 89% adherent to the program, 99.4% of the participants had avoided any further major cardiac events.

Deadly Dairy Deception by Dr. Robert Bibb
Deadly Dairy Deception is a thought-provoking work by Dr. Robert Bibb which introduces readers everywhere to the killer disguised as a saint: dairy products. Americans consistently hear about the benefits of dairy consumption, such as getting calcium and vitamin D. But rarely are Americans presented with Bibb’s insight into the scientific downfalls of consuming dairy products. Bibb goes into detail sharing his information on genes and hormones that affect the cells that produce cancer. He provides thorough research and several proven statistics linking the milk to cancer. He even proves that a dairy-free diet can serve as a preventative or perhaps curative method for prostate and breast cancer.
